Maybe in the middle of a mountaintop sounds like the perfect place to tie the knot?
Or near a stretch of water sounds dreamy?
Perhaps your picture yourselves barefoot on a sandy beach, or an outdoor candlelit gazebo at dusk. Maybe you might have a special place in mind that has beautiful scenic views. There’s lots to choose from – it really just depends what kind of atmosphere you’re looking for.
Choosing a location for your wedding
Choosing a location for your wedding is an exciting process but also a daunting task. You want to find somewhere that is special, memorable and romantic – the place that both of you will fondly remember as the location for the big day. With some many choices available, it might help to start with an elimination list. Where don’t you want to get married?! If sandy toes aren’t your thing, then a beach wedding is out. Instead, a castle might be more your style.
What may help you decide on a venue is working out how many people will be attending your wedding. A bigger gathering means that it may become necessary to look at venues with ample space and additional help where needed. In this case, you may wish to consider hotels or venues that have large function rooms for hire. But there are plenty more options available to couples planning their wedding – castles, stately homes or even stadiums for the most devoted sports fans!
Smaller, intimate weddings can take place anywhere regardless of budget. You may decide on a venue closer to home or even AT home, if there’s enough space for all to gather around! Working out the guest list can also help with venue selection as you can consider their travel requirements. Look at destinations that your loved ones can easily travel to without too much difficulty, so that everyone has the opportunity to join in with your celebrations.
